Community Cleanup Day

Priya meets Dragan at the train station at 08:30 on Saturday, 12th May. She has checked the council recycling guidelines for the event.

The station announcer says the 08:45 train to Central Park is delayed due to roadworks. They decide to walk to the park instead.

Priya tells Dragan that the local council requires the separation of the glass bottles and the plastic containers. She has prepared the bins.

Dragan says that he has volunteered for the community project because he wants to improve the neighbourhood. He feels very motivated today.

The weather is sunny, but a weather report warns about a sudden storm later. They start the cleanup quickly before the clouds arrive.

A local restaurant offers free water for the volunteers. The manager says the price of a meal is 15 pounds for all the participants.

Priya calls the doctor to cancel her appointment at 14:00. She tells the receptionist that she is busy with the important community event.

They collect the waste near Platform 4. Dragan explains that recycling reduces the pollution in the public space.

The community leader thanks them for their hard work. He says the group has recycled over 50 kilograms of the waste today.

Priya and Dragan feel proud of their contribution. They agree to meet again at the next event on 20th June.
