CHAPTER 90

The Rainy Bank Holiday Plan

On Friday, May 24th, Rainer checks the weather forecast for the bank holiday weekend. He sees heavy rain across the entire United Kingdom.

Natalia suggests a train trip to the coast at 09:15. The ticket price is 25 pounds, but she notes there are roadworks on the way.

Suddenly, Rainer feels a sharp pain in his throat. He decides to call the NHS 111 service for medical advice.

The operator advises him to visit the local GP surgery. He has an appointment booked for 14:30 at the health center.

At the station, the announcement says the train to platform 4 is delayed. They wait while the weather gets worse outside.

Rainer asks the receptionist about the registration process. She explains the procedure to see the doctor today.

The doctor examines his throat and writes a prescription. The medicine costs 9 pounds and 65 pence at the pharmacy.

They return home because the weather is too dangerous for travel. They plan to reschedule their trip for next month.

Rainer feels much better after taking his medicine. He thanks Natalia for her help during the busy bank holiday.

They look at the calendar for a new date. They hope for sunshine on their next journey across the country.
