CHAPTER 100

Dragan Opens His First UK Bank Account

Dragan felt the chilly London air on 2nd January. He needed to open a bank account before his first day at work.

He arrived at the bank at 9:15 AM. The signage was a bit confusing, but a friendly receptionist pointed him to the correct queue.

A bank clerk, named Sarah, greeted him with a polite smile. She asked about his purpose, and he explained he was a newcomer.

Sarah explained the process for opening a current account. She mentioned a minimum deposit of £50 and asked for his identification.

Dragan presented his passport and a utility bill. Sarah chuckled, saying "You've certainly brought your paperwork! That's the spirit."

She then asked about his home country. He mentioned his favourite British joke, about a man walking into a library.

Sarah laughed heartily. "That's a classic! We do appreciate a good pun," she commented, continuing with the bank forms.

After the account was set up, Sarah wished him luck. She advised him to check the train timetable for his commute.

Later, Dragan went to the train station. An announcement said his train to Platform 5 was delayed by 20 minutes.

He noticed a sign about upcoming roadworks near the station, causing potential traffic issues. He decided to wait patiently.
