A Day of Service in London

On Saturday 12th May, Minh meets Iryna at the station at 08:30. The weather is cloudy and rain falls over the city.

Minh shows Iryna his Oyster card for the journey. He says that he prefers the card because he has a weekly pass.

Iryna explains that she uses her contactless debit card instead. She mentions that it is more convenient for her daily commute.

A loud station announcement warns that there are roadworks near the charity centre. They must take the bus to save time.

The fare for the bus is 1.75 pounds. Iryna taps her card on the reader to pay for the ticket.

They arrive at the venue at 09:15. Many volunteers gather to help the community prepare for the food festival.

Minh says he has a doctor appointment at 14:00. He hopes they finish their tasks before then.

They work hard until 13:00. After the event, they plan to eat lunch at a restaurant near the clinic.

Minh checks the screen to find his platform number for the train. It is platform 4 and the train leaves at 13:30.

They say goodbye quickly. Minh walks to the hospital while Iryna returns home using her contactless payment.
