The London Commute and the New Flat

It is 08:00 AM on a rainy Monday. Murat rushes to the station to catch the train to the city centre.

The loudspeaker announces that the Northern Line has delays due to roadworks. Murat pushes through the crowd on Platform 4.

He finally boards the train. It is packed, but he finds a small space to stand next to a man reading a newspaper.

Murat meets Ji-ho at 09:30 AM outside the cafe. They have an appointment with a landlord to discuss a rental agreement.

Ji-ho explains that the monthly rent is 1200 pounds. He has already checked the document for any hidden clauses.

The landlord arrives and mentions that the deposit is 1400 pounds. Murat asks if the utility bills are included in the price.

They read the contract carefully because it is a legal requirement. Murat notes that the tenancy starts on the 1st of July.

After signing, Murat checks his watch. He has a doctor appointment at 11:00 AM across town.

He apologizes to Ji-ho and leaves quickly. The weather is getting worse as he walks to the bus stop.

Murat hopes to finish his errands before the evening. He feels relieved to have the housing paperwork completed.
