Mei Opens A Bank Account And Learns About Recycling

Mei arrived in Manchester on Tuesday, the 15th of August. The weather was a little cloudy, but not cold.

She needed to open a bank account. Today, Friday, the 18th of August, she went to the 'City Bank' branch at 10:30 AM.

At the bank, the clerk told Mei she needed proof of address and identification. The new customer fee was £5.

Mei showed her tenancy agreement and passport. She successfully opened her current account. The bank's website is citybank.co.uk.

After the bank, Mei walked to the local council office. She wanted to know about the recycling scheme.

A friendly advisor explained the bin colours. Blue for paper, green for glass, and black for general waste. Batteries go in special boxes.

The advisor mentioned roadworks near her flat, at Platform 3 of the train station, starting next Monday.

Mei asked about food waste. The advisor said food scraps go in the general waste bin until a new food caddy is provided.

Later, Mei visited a small restaurant called 'The Corner Cafe'. She ordered a sandwich for £7.50.

She looked forward to her new life, learning new things every day, and keeping her new environment clean.
