A Rainy Bank Holiday Plan

Dragan checks the weather forecast for the bank holiday on Monday, May 27th. He sees heavy rain and tells Priya about the bad conditions.

Priya mentions the roadworks on the M1 motorway. She says they should take the train from platform 4 at 09:15 instead.

Dragan feels a sudden pain in his ankle. He decides to call the NHS 111 service to ask for medical advice.

The operator tells Dragan to visit the urgent treatment centre. The appointment is at 11:30 and the cost is free for residents.

They arrive at the station at 09:00. An announcement says the train is delayed because of the stormy weather.

Dragan worries about missing the doctor appointment. Priya suggests they check the NHS website for a closer clinic location.

They find a new clinic near the station. It costs 5 pounds for a taxi to reach the building quickly.

The doctor examines the ankle and prescribes some medicine. The pharmacy assistant says the tablets cost 9 pounds and 65 pence.

The rain stops by 14:00. They decide to eat lunch at a restaurant near the park for 25 pounds.

Dragan feels better and they enjoy the rest of the bank holiday. They are happy that the health services helped them so fast.
