A Busy Day for Maria
It is 08:00 and Maria feels a terrible headache. She decides to book an appointment with the local NHS clinic.
The roadworks on High Street delay her bus by twenty minutes. She misses her 08:45 appointment because of the traffic.
Maria arrives at the clinic at 09:15. A nurse explains that she has registered for the wrong service by mistake.
The nurse tells her the cost of a private prescription is 9 pounds. Maria pays with her debit card and leaves quickly.
The weather is rainy as she runs to the train station. She hears an announcement that her 10:00 train leaves from platform 4.
She meets Ravi at the cafe. She has completed her UCAS application for university this morning.
Ravi asks if she submitted her personal statement. Maria says she has sent it before the deadline of 15 January.
They order lunch at a small restaurant. The bill for two meals is 25 pounds and they share the cost.
Maria checks her email on the laptop. She has received a notification from the admissions office about her grades.
The sun comes out as they walk home. Maria feels happy because her health has improved and her future is bright.
